Since the 1930’s skiers in German speaking counties have valued "stick walking" and also "stick running", as a method of summer training. It was only at the beginning of the 1990’s that the sport of walking with the aid of sticks was scientifically researched in America, the design of the sticks was further developed and Nordic walking was reintroduced as an endurance sport.
The advantages of Nordic walking over conventional walking: the muscular system of the upper body is deployed and oxygen consumption is around 5% higher. Make use of the marvellous beach in Binz when going on a Nordic walking tour. And you can borrow our Nordic walking sticks free of charge!
