Location and Surroundings – Beautiful Countryside Everywhere
The Hotel AM MEER & Spa is situated in probably the most beautiful of Rügen’s bays; the Prorer Wiek, directly on the pedestrian-only beach promenade and in the old part of the Baltic seaside resort of Binz.On the 4.5km long promenade you will find numerous shops, restaurants and cafés and the 370m long pier.

Binz’s pedestrian zone begins at the pier and is therefore only 200m away from the hotel, at the same time, far enough away from the bustle that prevails there. Numerous shops such as amber jewellers, boutiques and many specialised shops as well as cafés and restaurants line Binz’s splendidly renovated, car-free main shopping street.
A view to the south
Several hotel rooms have a view directly over the Schmachter See; an approximately 135 Hectare sized inland lake, which borders Binz to the west. A well signed footpath completely surrounds the lake. The Senses Park with its themed garden was a part of the International Garden Show, based in Rostock in 2003.
Wandering in the Southeast
To the south east of Binz, the bordering Granitz offers much longer wander ways. It is one of the largest connected areas of beech and mixed woodland in north Germany (approx; 1.200ha), including moorland and the Schwarzen See, and crowded with cycle ways and footpaths. At the highest point you will reach the Jagdschloss (Hunting castle) Granitz.
Good Transport connections
The station of the popular steam train; ‘Rasender Roland’ is located approximately 200m away. The steam locomotive lets guests experience a nostalgic Rügen.
